Returns, Refunds, and Rental Terms Policy
1. Return Instructions
Rented clothing must be returned by the agreed upon return date specified in your rental agreement to avoid additional fees.
We will arrange for collection from the specified address unless otherwise agreed. If you have selected to return the item yourself, it must be dropped off at our designated collection point:
1 Dockrail Road, Foreshore, Cape Town, 8001
By 5:00 PM on the agreed return date
Alternative return arrangements may be made only with prior written approval from The Lease Concept.
2. Inspection, Condition, Damages and Alterations
All returned clothing will be inspected upon receipt.
You are responsible for ensuring that all items are returned in the same condition as received, with all original components, unaltered and undamaged.
Damage includes but is not limited to permanent stains such as makeup, food, or ink, fabric tears or holes, broken zippers or missing buttons, burns, excessive stretching, odours that cannot be removed, and any unauthorised alterations.
No alterations of any kind are permitted. This includes tailoring, hemming, taking in or letting out, sewing, cutting, dyeing, or adding or removing embellishments. Even if alterations are done with good intentions, they may permanently affect the garment’s structure or value.
If damage, alterations, or missing components are identified, you will be notified with supporting images and an outline of any applicable charges in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
Normal wear such as light creasing or signs of gentle use that do not affect the garment’s condition is not considered damage.
3. Refunds, Cancellations and Store Credit Policy
All rentals are final sale.
We do not offer cash refunds under any circumstances.
3.1 Cancellations Before the Rental Period
We understand that plans may change. If you choose to cancel your order before the rental period begins, you may be eligible for store credit only, subject to the following conditions:
Cancellations must be made before the rental start date
Approved cancellations will receive store credit, not a refund
Store credit is non transferable, non redeemable for cash, and must be used within the stated validity period
No cancellations, refunds, or credits will be issued once the rental period has started.
3.2 Fit and Size Issues
If your rental item does not fit, you must notify us within 5 hours of accepting delivery.
You may request a different size subject to availability, or return the item due to size issues.
If the item is returned due to fit, you will receive store credit for the rental amount minus dry cleaning, delivery, and applicable administration fees. All fees are non refundable and are outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
Failure to notify us within the 5 hour window will result in the rental being deemed accepted.
3.3 Non Eligible Situations
No refunds or store credits will be issued for change of mind after the rental period begins, unused rental days, styling preference or subjective dissatisfaction, or late returns.
By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to this policy in full.
4. Items Left in Clothing
The Lease Concept is not responsible for personal items left in rented clothing. Please ensure all personal belongings are removed prior to return.
5. Late Returns and Fees
Late returns will incur additional fees calculated at 10 percent of the rental fee per day for each day the item is late. Late fees are applied in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
6. Processing Store Credit and Deposits
Any applicable store credit or refundable security deposits will be processed within 5 to 7 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected.
Rental Terms and Conditions
7. Rental Period
The rental period for each item will be specified on our platform and is subject to a minimum hire period of four days.
Requests for extended hire periods must be submitted via email and are subject to approval.
8. Rental Fees and Payment
Rental fees are clearly stated on our platform. Payments may be made via credit card, debit card, or other approved payment methods.
9. Security Deposit
A security deposit may be required for certain items, as specified on our platform.
Provided the item is returned on time and in acceptable condition, the security deposit will be fully refunded.
10. Care and Return of Clothing
You must treat all rented clothing with reasonable care.
Clothing must not be altered without prior written consent
All items must be returned by the end of the hire period
Items must be returned in their original condition
11. Fees, Charges, and Replacement Costs
If an item is returned late, damaged, altered, or not returned within five calendar days after the hire period ends, The Lease Concept reserves the right to charge late fees at 10 percent of the rental fee per day, replacement fees equal to the item’s retail value, and a reasonable administration fee where applicable.
12. Payment Authorization
By using our services, you authorise The Lease Concept to charge the payment method used for late fees, replacement fees, and administration fees. Payment processing is handled via third party payment providers.
13. Ownership and Liability
If all applicable fees are not paid and the item is not returned, you will be deemed to have purchased the item on an as is basis, with no warranties provided by The Lease Concept.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa.
